GP visit *editted

Today, woke up at 7am (that's even earlier than monday, where i woke up at 7.45). Felt so reluctant to get myself out of d house to get to Bridgeton Health Centre. Really wish not to go there! To b sure i will b on time at 8.30am, i made a move at 7.33am from my room. There i go, walking down to Trongate bus stop along high street. Wow, that's so dark out there! I can't c anyone around me.. so scared ppl ard me since i was travelling alone. But no choice, cos no one teman me la, some more i m the only imu student going to Bridgeton, n 5 others ang mohs.. Ok, walked for ard 10-15mins to reach d bus stop, found a lady n jus ask her which bus should i take. She said i can take the bus 16 that's arriving, so i jus hop on. Asked the bus driver bridgeton health centre, but he said, oh, u wanna go bridgeton cross. Ok, 95p please. Nvm, mayb he don get what i wanna say, so i din care much, jus hop down whenever i think it's time! Along the way, so scared passed by v far, if so, i need to walk for a longer distance. Someone buzz the bell, n he hopped down. "Did i see Tobacco St or wat jus now?"... n acc to my 6th sense, n according to the map i drawn, yea, that's it. I shud hop down now!! is now!! ok.. cepat cepat go down.. n saw a sign board - Abercromby St. Yea yea... n then walk along the st, then i found Bridgeton Health Centre by looking at the sign board Bridgeton health centre car park only.. No big signboard on the building, but from outer view, u can know that's the health centre. Reached there at 8am.. n i was d earliest........ n the cleaner don let me go in.. i was so gonna cry cos she chased me out, wanting me to stay in the cold... but luckily the main door is those 2 doors kind, u get wat i mean.. ya, so she said i can wait in btw the 2 doors.. then onli i relieved... later 1 min, another girl came.. she was so early also... then another guy, then another guy.. And then i was like .. "where is my partner?" Ok. Later i was asked to go n take a seat at the Dr Ali area.. N manatahu, he wil only come at 9am.. I was like "haiyo, why la 9am n asked us to come so early at 8.30?"... waiting waiting n waiting... n where is my partner again??? it's 8.40am dy but my partner still not seems to b appearing.............finally he reached around 8.45am n we chatted a while to berbond a bit.. n i was complaining that i was there at 8am n got to wait for 1 hour... while waiting for Dr Ali to come, i look ard here n there... saw a mother n a boy there since 8.30am n they r waiting for Dr Ali as well..

Ok. Finally Dr Ali was here n asked us to go in.. we were separated so as 1 person inside wif him n another with the reception there. Mayb he doesn't wan to hv too many ppl inside at one time.. n i m like: wat, i m so gonna b alone? oh no, i dunno how to communicate wif doctor n pt one la!! die la.. that moment, really feel like going home!! i don wan to hv this GP visit!!! but after the 1st pt came in, i hv no choice but starts listening. The 1st pt that came in was the boy wif her mom.. 1st case: impetigo, n the boy take off his trousers to show the Dr his butt with rashes.. he was so pai seh i know, cos i was in front of him... then later on got 2 pts came in just for MC due to muscular pain or joint pain, then another pt wif pain as well, another high bp, another .. can't remember dy.. I know i looked at 6 cases today. There r 12 ppl made appointment wif Dr Ali today, so me seeing 6 cases, n my partner 6 cases. Btw, what i heard from other ppl going to other GP is different from mine separating both of us.. for them, both of them were allowed to be in the Dr's room together.. That's much better actually... Got to c a nurse's dealing with a drug misuser wif leg ulcer, cause the pt got oedema n Dr Ali was asked to hv a look at the pt jus b4 the nurse apply dressing on the pt's leg.. n that ulcer is really disgusting..

After 6 cases, i were thrown outside at the reception, n when i asked the staff what should i do there, n she told me: do nothing, do ur own thing. ok, but then a bit weird la to do my own thing n some more i got nothing to do. So, i started to ask her some questions, trying to find questions out of nowhere, just to create some topics.. but still can't talk for v long, n it's hard for me to catch what is she talking abt also!! later.. quietness.. that's really too sien.. too sien.. .. n she was busy answering phone .. another staff later explained to me what she does everyday, scanning n uploading the scanned letters onto pt medication record.. the tech is v advance, everything paperless.. some more the drug that the dr shud prescribe can also b found on comp, so there isn't a need for the doctor to remember which drug, which dose to gif the pt, cause everything is set in the comp, everything is jus so convenient..

finished at ard 12.20pm and i walked back to argylle st cause wanna save money since it's v near only.. ok, that's a 3 hour of GP visit.. a bit fei la.. i really think is fei... cause.. all the cases i saw are quiet fei la, v v minor problem.. no big problem.. come here for MC.. .. n some more our module there written we shud concentrate on asthma, diabetes, n some other chronic diseases, but i din seem to c all these kind of cases! got one high bp, but erm.. dunno.. my Dr asked me to choose the sore shoulder one instead, so i jus choose that as my case lo. oh ya, i think the doctor here r quite diff from doctor in malaysia. in malaysia, there is always a nurse or staff that will call ur name when it's ur turn to c the doc, but here, Dr Ali walked out to the common area n asked his pt to go in each n everytime. So i was asking him why.. n he said he prefers like this while to hv some walk n he said there is intercall actually but he doesn't like.. aiyoyo.. oh ya, for me, he doesn't seem to b like a doctor, more like a lecturer la!

oh ya, he told me something which i dunno... he said malaysia government contributed a lot on Strathclyde uni new building dunno how many yrs back, that's why there is a twinning programme btw malaysia n strathclyde where strathclyde allowed so many of us from malaysia to study here! anyone knows if this is true? n then he added on, there is only 2 school of pharmacy in scotland, one in glasgow one in aberdeen. He said there is a shortage of pharmacist in scotland as well.. n then something is in my mind: no wonder we need to go back malaysia for pre-reg, is it that the malaysia government ada contract dengan uni of strath that we r not allowed to work here since malaysia is lacking of pharmacist? (dunno if it's true or not, jus something i think) ... it's for u guys to think abt the interconnection/inter-relation btw the contribution n our pre-reg... tata

Haha. This post is a bit too late, n now is 24th jan dy, so shud b happy belated birthday rather than happy birthday.

Ok. How did we celebrate her birthday? Remembered last year on this day, me, mel, lm, syt n xvin celebrated SP birthday in Sri Petaling. We had steamboat dinner, n later on had secret recipe cakes. Funny experience was that we can't make decision which cake we wanna buy, thus we chose 2 cakes, each with 6 slices, to make it a one whole cake. Really super funny. One oreo cheesecake and another one was banana chocolate cake, one tall one short. Imagine the different height of the cakes when put together! Oo.. secret recipe cakes! I miss them.. Yea, kk finally got secret recipe, in warisan square (is it? or wat's the name - m not v sure)..

N this yr, mel n lm baked a cake while i spent the time sleeping.. Cos i was too tired due to the early wake up in da morning. And we called the rest of the gang to come n celebrate together. We decided to make SP think that we wil not celebrate for her and then only surprise her at 12.30am. Actually i din realli know she got za dao or not la.. haha.. cos we knocked her door so loud, n when she opened her door, she saw we all, then she closed her door again.. then reopened her door again... so birthday songs n eat cake. Mel n lm baked one normal cheesecake, n one with super sour raspberry topping cheesecake.. the raspberry really super duber sourrrrrr..... haha. but actually the cakes turn out quite nice too. Kim later suggested that we go n eat kebab, but too bad, the shop was closed, it's 1.15am dy..

Dinner time - Starwalk buffet.. start eating from ard 7.45pm till 10.40pm like that. We really eat a lot till i wanna vomit.. v v v v fullll... food there still ok, love the mustard prawn... n other food r common. Not much differences (but stil got some) from china buffet king (cos both the shop r under d same boss wo, acc to someone) .. staffs r realli v nice...

M so fuuuulll now ... ciaozz..

GU-western infirmary. 1st day visit

Today, i woke up at 7.17am (wow, that's too early) so as to meet the rest of the ppl going to Glasgow Uni at 7.50am. In d end, we left at around 8am. Spent 8 pounds for my 10 journeys ticket, and now i m broke! That's really a lot.. a lot.. i spent so much for transportation.... When we reached there at Kelvinhall station, we waited for Van's friend who purposely meet us at the subway to bring us to the destinated location.. Thanks to him so much! When we reached the seminar room at Western Infirmary, it's only 8.40am. Wow, we were the 1st to reach.. and we waited n chatted to wait for the rest to arrive. JC, our Strathclyde lecturer, and SM, Glasgow Uni lecturer, were our tutors for this morning session.

Wow, i admire the GU lecturer so much! He is really very geng. N he is not bad-looking, and he is young when compared to JC, mayb jus in late 20 or early 30 those kind, and looks v young. He is v v v v knowledgable... he knows everything that JC doesn't know. And then JC was like one of the student, asking SM questions... in d end of the tutorial, me n kath were like: wow, he is so geng!! In contrast, JC was like dunno a lot of things, n he kept on asking the presenters all those questions that really made me "san tiao xian"... haha...

wow.. me n a medic student got to work together for a question, and i think i really hv problem berbond with ppl here. It's jus so hard for me to berbond wif her, n i dunno wat shud i discuss wif her also... oh ya, visited western infirmary medical library today, n i saw our Vander physiology, there is jus so many vander there, stack up on top to one and another..

Erm.. think that's all.. i m tired n sleepy....

Jus listened to a cny song, wow, that's the qi fen i want! Huh, glasgow is jus so dead! Sure la.. :) Oh, my family r going to china during cny, i wish i can go too! i never been to china b4!! how i wish i m back in kk..

Winter trip food 2

Hihi.. everyone.. now i m continuing for my second post on food during my winter trip! Still, i haven't gather all the pics yet, so i still hv some pics with me + food still with others! Ok. Found out that we really ate a lot during our trips.. christmas market is really our favourite place to have our dinner.. cause the food there r nice!

This is the TRDLO at prague x'mas market. It is also found in budapest. I like it so much! Me, mel, ym n yt.. btw, the trdlo ym holding is not hers.. she just wanna take pic with it onli...

Old prague ham @ prague x'mas market. Though the ham is quite salty, but we had a good try for it.. a lot of ppl queued for this.. let's hv a look how the ham was roasted...

yea.. this is where the small piece of old prague ham came from.. it's roasted.. like a roast pig above the fire..

Erm, if i m not mistaken, this is called Langos. Like a piece of fried 面团.. like those pisang goreng flour... with topping of tomato, garlic n cheese. Me n yt shared half of it, n that mel with her one whole piece of langos.. c, she is such a big-eater!! muahahha... n this thing is really filling!

At Vienna x'mas market.. c the piece of bread-like thing yt holding? Yea, that's wat sold in the stall behind us! Chocolate topping with custard in it.. i don like custard... It's not really nice.. n also, c the guys behind us!! haiyoyoyo...

@ Vienna x'mas market.. Potato jim.. This is nice.. but it's really very fattening... some of us had this for our 2 days dinner.. but not me! Potato with corn n ham + their special made mayonaise. It's taste pretty nice, n guess everyone of us like it.. if not, we won't b eating this twice.. But it's so big n can be shared by 2 ppl. But some r small... still depends.. This was bought by ym herself, n c, it's such a big one! And she herself can't finish it.. n me n yting shared one, which is smaller than hers.. but v jelak if eat too much..

At Vienna @ one of the ice-cream shop. C, the weather outside was so cold, but all of us still wanna eat ice-cream. The ice-cream was really very cheap, 2 euro for 3 scoops.. And i liked the hazelnut flavour.. And i like the cone as well... yummy

@ budapest - lunch time at pizza hut. That's the only shop opened on the 25th dec.. so, we had no choice but had our lunch there..

@ Pasta Dost , budapest for buffet dinner. The food there r ok only, photo of me with shinjeng salads plus fruit punch we ordered! Fruit punch is a kind of alcoholic drink, but i myself don't really like the taste.. but i guess leemay love it so much...

Yea.. Guinness Draught time! Guinness draught served at the gravity bar (a complement pint)was much nicer than the one we had in the tasting area. Yea.. cheerzzzz.. all the kaki botol.. with yteng - the not kaki botol - holding the camera..

Irish Breakfast at hostel - The full irish breakfast is somewhat like english breakfast.. not much different actually!

Yea, that's all about food. Our gang love food so much.. we tried everything as possible. But, that's a nice try too. I personally prefer food in vienna n prague, not only in Christmas market, but also in whatever restaurant we went too. We din go to budapest christmas market, n the food we had in budapest doesn't really taste nice. Dublin - i don really like the food we tried in dublin, except the McD.

Research project

I m in love with my project? Am i? Yea, cell culture is actually a nice title to deal with. I do like it .. but i don like to write report! My supervisor is realli a nice supervisor, n she leads us every moments.. it's good! Though everyday we ended our lab very late in the evening, i m still happy with it. For me, lab ends late doesn't seems to be a big problem to me. We ended our lab at 7pm b4, n today ended at 6.45pm. And normally is around 5 something to 6pm. Today, my lunch break was at 4.30pm, it's really a super late "lunch break". And i got back to lab at 5.30pm to continue for the plates reading.. Learned a lot from the experiments n this is wat my supervisor told us. She chatted to us a lot, explained a lot to us too. Get to know a lot of things from her. She will be very very excited and happy when our results did show some positive results.. And her happiness really influences me! And i myself also feel happy with the results we just got today, after wat we had done for the whole day today n last few days.

Wien x'mas market

Was in vienna during the 22nd till 24th dec. On the 23rd night, we were in the x'mas market there n wishing to buy the x'mas market cup + fruit punch. Before entering the x'mas market stall areas, we were busy taking pics with all the christmas trees and all the decorations surrounding. And came up an idea of recording a short video.. n here's the video...



After the recording, shinjeng, who took over from yoketeng, said that why was it so dark.. And then only we found out that we recorded nothing! Can't c any of us inside there!! Jus the city hall plus the christmas trees! And it was just so funny! Tak boleh tahan!!

I missed malaysia new year eve celebration, i missed malaysia christmas eve celebration. Malaysia is really much more happening than glasgow. 31st dec 06 hogmanay celebration in glasgow was being cancelled. Luckily we din make our way to edinburgh, if not, we will really vomit blood as the hogmanay street party there was being cancelled too. Why is it so unlucky? Why r we so unlucky? We missed the countdown in uk, and i think we will gonna miss out the snowing in glasgow! Heard from a lot that glasgow will not be snowing! Sad.. n my grp member staying at somewhere above aberdeen, also din see any snow so far in 06 till now! So guess, it's not gonna snowwwww... And again, know what i did for my christmas eve n christmas day? Christmas eve, do nothing, as the x'mas market in vienna was closed at ard 5pm so we got no where to hang out at that nite. And on x'mas day itself, i was in budapest and all the shops r closed as expected. We din have any x'mas dinner as well.. cos that scary ppl in budapest that i mentioned in my previous post who threw bread at us, scared us n i was really pale that time n hv no mood to hv my christmas dinner dy! And now, i m searching on youtube and saw those taiwan new year count down concerts. If i m in malaysia, my new yr eve wouldn't b such boring as i have here in glasgow, where i spent my night watching series in my room... hopefully my chinese new year eve will not b tat boring again!

Food during trip!

Wanna post pics on places i visited but i just can't choose much nice pics of mine taken using my camera. So, m waiting to get the pics from the rest of my travelmates. So, now, jus post some pics on food i ate during my trip~ enjoy!



First dinner in prague - Ming Yue Lou - Chinese restaurant. When we reached prague and reached our hostel, it's almost 10pm. The streets outside are so quite. We haven't had our dinner and so lucky, we saw a chinese restaurant nearby our hostel. Cause of not much places to choose and the scary environment around, we made our decision to step into this restaurant. The waitress there is so so nice. She told us everything we wanna know. Pic showing me and my rice. The rice is quite nice, just that it's too salty. The dish is cheap, it's jus 59 crown, which is app 1.5pound.

Day 2 high tea time at KFC. 105 crown. 2 pieces of original chicken and 3 hot wings (suppose to be 2 hot wings only and dunno why the guy so nice n he gave me 3!) It's worthwhile, i guess. And it's nice!

Met ailian and she told us they went to a japanese restaurant. So, we purposely made our way to that particular jap restaurant and when we saw the menu, we really got a shock! It;s jus too ex. So, since we were inside the restaurant dy, we just ordered the cheapest food to eat - Spicy ramen.

Vienna cuisine. This dish is nice but still, it's a bit too salty - Beef with fried onions on it. Taste different and it's nice. The price is nice too, around 16 euro, but the waiter said must plus tips for himself, so he said 17 euro. The people there after collecting money, they put it into their wallets immediately and they didn't ring it into a till machine or put into drawers.. and they add tips for themselves as they like. At 1st he told us 19 euro for those wif water, 17 euro without water. Then because not all of us ordered the same dish of the same price, then he got confused and he said he will give us a bill and add a 15% extra charge and asked us to gather the money and pay on 1 go. But if our food plus 15%, it will be much more than the price he told us to pay for him initially. So, we decided to just pay the 17euro/19euro instead of recalculating ourselves and pay more for him. Btw, the waiter is not that nice too and we all also don't feel like paying him any tips.... :) so better pay less than more!

Dublin McD. Sweet chili sandwich. This is nice! The sweet chili sauce is really spicy and it tastes great!

Actually i still have a lot of pics on food but it's not with me now. So, i think that's all i have now...

An advice to u

An advice to you, yes, it's u!

Do you think carrier is much more important for you than love? Different people has different targets on different things. Some seems to think that love will be in the 1st place, and for them, money is not important. For others, money is more important than love. Do think deeply into this question to determine which path u think u should choose. U get what i mean? Make a wise choice and please do not regret after the decision!

On my msn nick, i put: "I feel like i m not healthy after the entire trip!" Yea, i have such feeling. Not only on diet, but on everything. I carried my sling bag everyday, though there isn't much things inside, it's jus too heavy! I carried my stupid backpack from country to country, walking metres and metres, from airport to hostel, hostel to bus station, again to airport, back and forth, and it's really too tiring! I wished i have a maid that will travel with me. I wished i have money to stay in 5 star hotel, n not those dirty hostel which has bed bugs. I wished i have a massage chair now, or even a person who can massage for me, i just feel very painful everywhere, especially my shoulders. N yest, did i sprained my ankle? hope not. I always terseliuh my ankle whenever i m walking.. it's jus too bad for me!

Since i m back in glasgow, i have been busy downloading series and busy watching it all. I wanna start to rearrange all my pics i took throughout the entire semester, and also holidays. But i just so lazy to go and get the pics from everyone. Cause there is just so much that i need to get from so many people. N i m just so lazy!

I hate glasgow weather, but i love to be back in glasgow. I love my room, the shower, the kitchen, my laptop and everything that i possess. Glasgow weather is just too bad. Prague weather is nice.. no raining, vienna good too, n budapest not bad too. It's foggy on that day we left budapest and i think it's going to snow there. We saw some white drops, small drops of snow i guess when we were there. But it just melt whenever it reaches the ground. It's not hail though. Too bad, we missed the snow. Sad huh!
